Hi. My unlocked unbranded s9 plus on latest firmware will not roam to foreign networks while travelling. My note 9 will and if I switch sim cards, the sim from the note 9 to the s9 it still will not allow roaming. There are no other issues with the s9 so this error is strange. Any help would be great thanks.

The Samsung phones will have the needed bands and frequencies to be able to latch to foreign networks.

The issue typically lies with the Network and the persons mobile phone contract settings and bars.

Therefore it's an option to also speak with your network company too.

Hi, I am having the exact same problem. I've tried with sim cards from 3 different network providers - all of them working on other phones, but not on my Samsung s9. This is frustrating. Did you get any solution to this isssue?

Hi. No I have tried at least 4 different sim cards and compared it to my note 9 and my wifes note 8 and it still will not roam. Lol its head bangingly frustrating. I've actually given up on getting it working and just use the note now while abroad.

My SM-G965U1 (Samsung Galaxy S9+ unlocked from factory, no carrier lock) does not work when roaming in the EU. I have traveled to Gran Canaria  Spain with a EE sim, and to Crete  Greece with a Vodaphone sim. I have tried resetting network settings  enabling roaming, and data. I have tried manually selecting a carrier and still does not work. My Vodaphone UK plan is supposed to work in the EU.

I'd suggest as a process of elimination to try your sim card in another phone to rule out the phone or Vodafone account.

I have come across before where a persons account in myvodafone shows roaming bars deactivated but at Vodafones end it wasn't.

You could speak with Vodafone via phone or Live Chat to double check > Vodafone Contact-us.

Also Vodafone UK cannot guarantee roaming will always work as they do not have direct control over a foreign network.

I really do not think this will be your phone.

I have exactly the same issue.  My S9 won't work when roaming in France, Spain or Greece.  The network operator is iD, and I've manually updated the APN settings.  The same iD SIM card works perfectly in an iPhone.

Same problem. Connection only working on main network, but as soon as Roaming is active, max connection I'm getting is HSPA+ which doesn't work with anything.
