Are you charging your phone when it gets really hot?
Also, so that you're aware, third-party accessories, such as cases, fans, virtual reality headsets, or selfie sticks, could be causing your device to overheat due to the extra power drawn by the accessory or by retaining the heat your device gives off.
Do you have anything like this on your phone? If so, try removing it and see if it helps.
