I am lucky enough enough to be able to upgrade to a S9 and wondered if there are any drawbacks to having a dual sim. I understand that i have to remove the SD card so those apps and data won't be available, but unless there are any differences I can't see why Samsung produce two models at the same price
My concern is that a dual sim runs a different version of the OS so may be slower in getting updates or Android P.
Anyone got first hand experience?
I do occasionally travel overseas and carrying two phones is a pain
Thanks,
Rob

I bought an s9+ from the Samsung flagship store in London. I have a Swiss Sim that is enabled for volte and WiFi calling, it worked in an s8, but I don't get either option in my settings. Swisscom say it is Samsung software but I am upto date with the latest release. Anyone any idea what I need to do to enable these options?

Wifi calling, have you checked your router? Or do you mean VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) if you are talking about wifi see if your wifi is connected to a wireless router or hotspot.
If you're talking about VoIP (meaning you're using internet provided by your Cellphone company though cell phone towers) then it might be your APN settings (Access Point Names) sometimes the SIM does automatically automatically or preprogrammed by your provider; sometimes not in such caseyou need to
Go to settings > connections > mobile networks > access point names.
See if your phone provider's name if not you'd have to input them manually.
You will need your SIM inserted first.
You can either obtain the APN from your cell company or screen cap the APN information from your previous phone, you may need to do this before you remove the SIM card. It's as simple as typing the information exactly.

The problem is that I do not have the options to turn on wifi calling nor the option for volte. These features are not even in my settings.
My phone works and I have high speed data access. The Sim is enabled by my network provider to have volte and WiFi calling but I cannot turn it on because the options are not available, do not even exist in my settings. Apn etc is all good. As I said in my original post the network operator has checked and the problem is with the android software installation and version I have from samsung

With both sims active there is no memory card. Does that mean one can't keep some photos and videos?
Please tell!

You just use the phones internal memory for storage, it does have at least 128gb.
