Recent Apps Gesture not Working on Home Screen with One UI 2.0

Cant get to recent apps from home screen, the new gesture (full screen gestures > swipe form sides and bottom) wont allow me to access recent apps once I'm on my home screen. Has anyone also discovered this and maybe figured out why?

This is so frustrating Samsung !!!!!

Yeah I just discovered the same problem on 2.0. Have not found a way around it yet tho except to open another app

In fact you can do it by swiping up  (just like when you open an app) and holding for a while and recent apps will appear , you don't need to open an other app . I discovered by chance .

I wish that happens to me, I hate that I open recents apps most of the time instead of going home, I wish I could change that stupid gesture

If you use Samsung Pay, the shortcut gesture is the same and so it interferes with Recent Apps. I've found it to be effective to start just right of the center of the bottom of the screen and drag towards the center left side of the screen. Specific, I know...
