I LOVED that feature when I had my samgung s7.  Please bring it back.  It looks so dull now.  I'd like to personalize my text meassge backgrounds.  I would be 100% satisfied if you would just bring it back

Hi @fox84

While there is no news about reinstating the customisation options in the Messaging app I'd recommend checking out Settings > Wallpapers and Themes > Themes to view the available options. I know it's not quite the same but it does allow you to add a bit of individual character to your phone.

To add @fox84 you could try an alternative texting app such as textra which may offer more customisation.

That and launchers such as Nova Prime can add further customisation.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256Gb in Phantom Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Basically, what you're saying is, if I want a RED sports car, I should paint my house red? That is pretty much how related your solution to the topic is. Like mine and everyone else's complaint, we would like to customize the Samsung messenger app, NOT the home or lock screen. Just tell people the truth, this customizable feature is currently not avaliable for Samsung messenger app on the galaxy s9 or s9+. End of story. Stop with the "salesman" jargon and tell us the truth.

I also would like to see the return of customisation to the message app background. I have used third party apps but like the functionality of the standard app.

Will there be an update on it soon? I just switched to a note 9 from a note 8 and i really like that feature. Because the white background, and the bubbles ,for me it bothers my eyes really bad. I don't want to change my whole theme. I'd like to customize the messages to something that doesn't bother my eyes. Can you pleaae bring it back?

I totally agree, how can it be an improved and better phone if you are trying to force the user to use Themes to change the entire phone versus what the customer wants Customization??? Plus I seriously doubt it's that hard to include in an update ASAP.

Oh please. This is about the messaging app, not the phone. Samsung Messages is not exclusive nor a permanent feature of any of these phones so if you dont like it you can easily use a different app until they make the updates to the one you prefer.
