Notification vibration

I have recently moved from Apple to a Samsung s9. It seems that I can not set different vibration tones for individual apps.

Even apps where you can alter vibration tones within their own settings (e.g. WhatsApp) it appears Android overrides these settings and delivers a 'double buzz' anyway. I find this frustrating as for apps where notifications are frequent I like to receive a short buzz to highlight low priority notifications. Can any one provide any info on this?

There may not be extra customisation via the vanilla settings in your phone but you could explore looking for an app or look at other launchers such as Nova Prime that may bring this type of customisation.
