When I receive an incoming call the security pattern screen appears, when I hit return to call this often results in me missing the call, this has only appeared after a recent software update. Thanks

If this was happening to my phone and it wasn't a downloaded app causing this which can be diagnosed by putting the phone in Safe Mode then I'd first try a soft reboot by turning the phone Off and On and if no joy back up and factory reset.

 

A Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can run a diagnostic test on the phone too @Neil10
