As soon as I open the phone contacts a pop up window stops me saying the app has stopped.  See attached?
Any tips on how to fix this?

Yep, I've just had the same issues! Its due to a bug in the latest Android update.
Best way to fix is, when error window pops up again, click app info, then memory and clear the data cache. Then go on to permissions and allow telephone and contacts. Don't clear the cache after doing this or you will need to allow permissions again.
The issue will be fixed then and Smart Calls will still work.
Good luck.
