Signal problems can be down to a number of things... could be the network... physical sim card... antenna... other hardware or maybe software.
Through process of elimination I would make sure network service is fine... so if it is poor signal everywhere you are then I would arrange a replacement sim from your carrier. If its still playing up then it is maybe something to do with your handset.
