Galaxy S9 white screen overlay

My phone screen has started to go white, though I can see my screen saver beneath it. It was working fine up until late yesterday evening - then it started, the only warning I had beforehand was the phone started flickering for a few seconds. Is there a solution to stop the screen going completely white? Also, it seems I now have to press the power button before using the finger scan to open the phone, but this doesn’t always work. Can anyone help?
