Download images, not downloading

Today I attempted to download some images to gallery like I have done loads in the past.

I get message saying they have downloaded, but they are not appearing in gallery.

I've checked files and downloads, the named images are there, but the actual image isn't visable.  

I have then clicked on it to attempt to open it.  I'm getting the following message  "you don't have any apps to open this file"

I was able to do this over the last couple of days.

Is it possible the ones your trying to get are in some way copyright protected. 

If not then try closing down the open apps and soft reboot the phone by turning it Off and On and then try again.
