I really wish I could turn back time and undo the frickin' damage I have done to my £800 S9+
I implore people to wait - as the One UI/Pie update I downloaded and installed last night is horrendous!!!
Issues noticed within 12 hours of the update.
I just wrote a huge post listing all the issues with the new update. Like the phone, the forum seems to be buggy and my post has vanished. So I'll keep this short - One UI/Pie has ruined my £800/$1,000 S9+
Camera, menus, multiscreen, keyboard, nav menu, widgets - all broken. Pretty pissed off.
Ah - I did wonder. 'Tis me whom is buggy. Thanks very much for finding/posting/merging my moans!
I have numerous others to add - but shall wait to see how many others complain.
I wonder - as my less than 1 year old 'phone is now pretty much knackered by Samsung theselves - did they invalidate their own warrenty? As such - does anyone know if they'd be legally liable to give me back the full price I paid for this thing? I mean - *they* broke it with their update. It's no longer doing what it was advertised being capable of doing. I bought it based on hundreds of reviews. Now - I would not buy it and wait for the latest Pixel perhaps...
Samsung - will you ever respond to the complaints?!?!
I wonder, did you try a factory reset? I have an S9+ myself and I really don't have any bugs. True some features have changed but if I'm honest, I find it a major improvement over what it was.
Personally I really appriciate the design direction, its focussed on "What matters" at the exact moment. Another thing if the new design direction is that its intention is to be slightly cleaner to year eyes and that the things that you need are closer to the bottom of the page (Making it easier to touch).
That said, tastes might always differ and there will always be people that don't like a design chance - I'm however glad that they did.
Personally I would of appreciated the choice
Rather than Samsung force this on us
My update said "security and privacy" update
No mention of functionality
Then if you mistakenly download this update its impossible to revert back
So if people do like the update- great
If you dont- you should be able to revert back
Customer care ??????
Mine upgraded, and is now a brick to me (NOTE9). I've only had it a month, it going back.
There is anothe thread you might be interested in; Samsung s9 android Pie Update Problems
Thank you, I will look into that.
I have had the Note 9 for a month, I traded in my NOte4. What a mistake! The update took effect the other day and now my wonderful little smart phone turned into a piece of PIE!
I called T-Mobile, they transfered me to Samsung; the only comments I recieved from Samsung was, "The phone cannot be reverted back in software to Oreo" & "that is the way it is" , I have the date, TOD, some before and afters.
I am looking into getting their attention by filing both a small claims, and also criminal malicious mischief charges. The cost to file in Clark county washington district court is minimal, however the cost to Samsung to defend itself will be considerable. My hope is that I can make it a class action and get others, even globally, to jump in. THe $ range for setting the classification is such that it would be a Class II felony, that is if it were only me involved. The classification in the State of Washington is $750-$5000 for class II. If others jump in the overall $ figure jumps and it would most likely jump to a Frist degree. It would rest ultimately on the motion and argument set before the judge in the complaint/filing.
Here is a brief description: https://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ugc/malicious-mischief-Washington-State
Legal fees in small claims would be at a minimum. Filing the larger one would have an initial cost of about $100 for filing fees and $50 for service to Samsung. I'm not too sure they would want the notariety.
Mate ring em up and email them . Im going them about my note 9 . Consumer Rights NZ is who im emailing as well. Stick it to them. 10 years ive been with samsung and now i guess its time to divorce from all their products not just phones.
