Does Datestamp Show the Year?

I used Settings in my Galaxy 9 to switch on timestamps or datestamps, and this year's photos show only the month and day. It's a new phone with no photos from any previous years. When the new year starts in January, will it automatically show the year with the month and day?

@dungtran: I can see that it's possible to choose the format the date stamp is in by opening your Gallery > Select an image > Tap the pencil below the image > Tap the sticker symbol (square with smiley face) > Tap the calendar symbol, second from the left > Choose a date stamp that contains the day, month and year. Please note that these steps are for manually adding date stamps only.
