Since the latest update on my S8+ (Verizon is my carrier), I have had seemingly random gradual dissappearance of some (not all) items on my status bar. First it was indication that my alarm is set (which does not appear until 2 hours before set time) then it was other items including, most importantly my signal strength indicator. I've tried everything I can think of and everything I've seen under various postings: rebooting, turning on and off various notification settings, safe mode to check if it's other apps, soft reset, and dozens of other combinations. Nothing fixes it. Seeing if my alarm is on without opening the app is important. But seeing my signal strength is absolutely essential.
Any suggestions on how to get help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you could be at the stage of backing up and performing a factory reset @Ushta
That and or a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can run a diagnostic test on the phone.
