Galaxy S9 SeriesHello, I bought a Samsung galaxy plus in Canada and I am currently enrolled in a school in the states and I was trying to use that phone in the states (it is unlocked) and it doesn't work. I did some research and they say Canadian phones have a software problem that doesn't allow them to work in the states and I was wondering if there was any way to fix this problem. I have a galaxy SM-G965W and it is from Bell. thanks for your time!

Galaxy S9 SeriesIt maybe that a region lock is in place on that phone @MicahDeW
What a person usually has to do is make a few phone calls totalling around 10 minutes using a local sim card and making calls to a local phone number.
I appreciate you can't do that now.
However if you contact the Samsung Support Teams from Canada they maybe able to remotely remove the region lock.
I've personally not heard of any software problem hindering usage.
If your phone is truly unlocked to all networks then your phone should just accept your own sim card and will have the frequencies and bands to be able to work where you are.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
