Galaxy S9 SeriesI'm on a different thread with over 30K plus people using call recording apps (I use ACR Pro) and I can no longer hear the caller only my voice, inbound and outbound calls.
I had the S8 plus which worked perfectly so what has Samsung done to permissions on the S9 plus which I'm now using, speaking with others it has also affected the S9.
It was very quick for Samsung customer service (UK) to put blame on the app developer but this isn't an issue with the app it's the phone.
Can someone from Samsung please tell me if this can be fixed or the S9 plus is useless to me and approximately 1.5 million other ACR users using Samsung's S9 devices.
For me the facility to record is paramount, it's not an issue with the latest version of Oreo as it works on other handsets.
Samsung what have you done ?

Galaxy S9 SeriesLast week I received my Thai SIM card. I followed your instructions and they work like a charm. The native call recording option is now visible on my Samsug S10+ .
One small remark: Samsung back-up does not exactly back-up all application settings, so it took me some time to re-configure all apps again.
Thanks again for your help, much appreciated 🙂

Galaxy S9 SeriesThat’s awesome, I’m glad it worked as long as you follow the instructions it works like a charm. This helped me so it may also help you I’ve made folders for contacts and add each call into the folder otherwise it’s a bit messy. Samsung and the restore from backup is terrible I had to do the same but it was worth it.
Thanks for sharing 😊

Galaxy S9 SeriesYou really didn't expect a company such as Samsung to do something right did you. I just went through three new TV's of their's in two months. So I switched. I got rid of my tablet which I replaced with an iPad, my S8 which I'm trying to get back to use until I can get rid of my S10e and find a phone with the notification LED still on it. I prefer not to go that far with Apple, but if I have to I will. Samsung is not the only one that took the notification LED off. I cancelled my new refrigerator and washer and dryer. Their service is terrible and I don't need the aggravation. However lets change the subject for a minute. I to extremely upset that Andriod/Google has made such a big deal about the call recording problem. I live in a two party state and evryone that called was told right up front that the call was being recorded. If they didn't like it they could hang up. It was and still is a grave matter to me. I have not so good hearing and the the recording especially from the doctors and banking institutions was very helpful. I could wait until I got home and replay to get the information from the caller so I could call back or take what ever action I needed to. If they are relying on the law to say it's illegal than ALL companies, doctors office, lawyers etc need to have to follow the same rule. This also includes our wonderful screwed up congress or big brother.

Galaxy S9 SeriesHi Ryan
Does this allow you to use any call recorder app, E.g. ACR
Or are you restricted to Samsungs built-in recorder?
Also - if you are restricted to Samsungs built-in recorder, do you have to enable it for each call, or does it work for all calls once switched on?
Thanks
Alan T.

You have three options you can select for automatic call recording:
- All numbers
- Unsaved numbers
- Selected numbers
Unfortunately there is no option to exclude numbers (spouse, voicemail, etc.)
Wow, after all the effort to understand this and now there is this twist. Thank you! Boldbeast is the app I use. They are a proper developer and are responsive and allow you to use any cloud storage you want. Samsung are none of those things.
I am going to have to rethink this. I may be with Oreo for a while.
Thanks again

Galaxy S9 SeriesHi Alan
By carrying out the Thai sim method only enabls the Samsung call recorder, other 3rd party apps do not work due to Google's policy.
With my Samsung recorder I have the ability to do the following,
Record all calls,
Select record (I.e when making a call I feel information is relevant within that call there is the option to press record similar to pressing the loud speaker button)
I hope this helps

Galaxy S9 SeriesI followed the instructions but was not successful my phone is asking for a network sim unlock code. Is there any way to resolve this. I've checked my device with other network sim cards and they work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Galaxy S9 SeriesHi Sphere
I have a few questions which might give me more information to help you,
What phone do you have?
What Android version is your phone using?
How long have you had the phone?
What Country are you in?
Is your phone locked to a network or was it ever?
Did you buy your phone directly from Samsung?
Thanks Ryan

Galaxy S9 SeriesI tried the method on my s10 unfortunately it does not work, I managed to resolve the region lock code with help from samsung support.
I was disappointed as I wanted it to work for my s10 but I am very happy it worked for my s9+ I now have call recording available thank you so much Ryan for posting these instructions. Do you know of any method to enable call recording on the s10?

Hi how are things. I keep getting a message when I turn my phone on saying. A new service provider. To use service providers apps and settings. You need to factory reset your phone and all your user data will be deleted. I dont know should I do another factory reset or am I getting the because I put the thai sim in. Any help will be great

Galaxy S9 SeriesHi guys ok so hopefully this will answer some questions I’ve been asked.
Using the Thai sim method
you will have a notification pop up every time you turn the phone on relating to new service provider. Do NOT click on this and carry out a new install as it will default the phone back to your local region. In other words what we have all done with the Thai sim to get that software will revert back.
You can only use a Thai sim once as soon as you try it in another phone it won’t work (this has been my own experience)
Some members are having difficulty with the S10, these phones have region locks on them which is put in place by Samsung to stop users doing exactly what we’re doing. You can contact Samsung and ask them to unlock your device, the way to do so is simply say your going on holiday and you will be using a local sim (Thailand) it won’t be long before they cotton on lol.
If you still experience problems after unlocking your device I’m afraid that Thai sim is no longer working and you will need a new one (it sounds ridiculous but it is what it is) I’m sorry that I’ve not made this clear I am learning as I go and sharing my experience. Just to touch on the region lock once this has been done you need to wait 72 hours before trying to install the Thai sim method however keep using your phone as normal (don’t turn it off and wait for the Thai sim to arrive I won’t go into detail about this but it is important)
I hope that helps guys.
ps
Just a reminder that the Thai sim needs to go in the handset before it reboots!!! (Also very important)
