@Simon1959: If you go to Gallery > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > About Gallery, are there any updates available? If not, try pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons together for around 10 seconds until the phone restarts, as this will refresh the software and address any temporary issues. If the problem persists, go to Settings > Apps > Gallery > Storage > Clear Cache, to see if this helps.
