AFTER UPDATED TO ANDROID PIE , BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES MIC NOT WORKING

after updated to android pie throug ota, i can not record or send voice message through the bluetooth headphone, iam using airpod, i tried with couple of other bluetooth headphone too, all having the same problem,

when iam using whatsapp or calling with thirdparty apps like imo with bluetooth headphone, the phone' internal mic is working instead of bluetooth headphone's mic, other end could hear my voice,

but

if i hold and close the phone's internal mic with my finger the other end could not hear my voice,

i already factory reset my phone twice, but still having the issue,

 

anybody having this same problem?

Sounds like a 3rd party accessories issue after the update @NoOzy 

 

I'd suggest to contact the headphone manufacturers to see if they can push a software update for their Bluetooth headphones and also let Samsung know via the feedback section in the Samsung Members App.

brother, i tried with morethan three headphone which is local and branded, all having same problem , but all this headphone's mic working well with other mobiles,
my airpod was working fine with my s9 plus before updating to pie

@NoOzy : Is the same issue happening with the stock phone app, or is it just happening with third-party apps?

yes, facing this issue with whatsapp, imo ,
and i tried with samsung officical voice recorder app which is not pre-installed in my phone also having this issue,

but not facing this issue in normal calling, and one app that i usually using for calling named "itel dialer" ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.revesoft.itelmobiledialer.dialer&hl=en
) also not having this problem

Hmm. Suggests an issue with those apps after the update in this instance. Those factory resets should’ve cleared all the old data on them though. Have you checked that the apps are up to date; and that everything is fine in their settings (both in the permissions etc. on the phone, and within the apps themselves)?

i have already done factory reset, everything i checked well , permission , bluetooth setings etc . etc... this happening not only in single app, even having with samsung voice recorder too,

Hi ... same problem with all 4 bluetooth headphones

- Apple Airpod 

- Sony wh-ch500

- AKG Y50bt 

- JBL  Under Armor version

 

Factory reset done
