Yes, first make sure it is powered off. Dont test it by trying to turn it on. If it has a removable battery remove it and put phone in a bowl of rice and in the airing cupboard is good too. Leave for several days and avoid the temptation to power it on whilst it is drying out. One of my previous phones worked again after doing that. But its also possible the phone could be damaged and need repair (if economical to do that).

the Samsung S9 is IP68 - this means it'll be fine in water up to 1.5 metres or 30mins.

I agree with the above comments to be safe - but unless exceeding the above you'll be fine.

To add once liquid has entered and touched the internal boards and components what you may find that in the first instance the phone will work OK but then iver time due to the warmth the phone generates the insides may oxidise.
