The title says it all. The UI is okay to deal with but some of the new features are terrible. I've had my S9 for about 8 months now, and I've never had any problems with it TIL NOW. Closing the apps feature is so complicated, you have to swipe up instead of swiping left or right which is more difficult to do if you're using one hand! The End Call feature isn't there! The photos on my people edge look pixelated! And my clock is on the upper left hand corner, which is very annoying and you can't do anything in the settings to fix it! Fix thisss!!!
I'm liking it. Or at least most of it.
Agree on the recent app revamp not being all that great though.
Multiple windows are gone?!... But even on s9+, it sucked from the get go. Really, you get a larger phone to display smaller multiple windows?!! Hell an app can still be small used fullscreen on 6in+ phone!!
DeX no longer uses the dock, and will just work as a computer with an HDMI to USB. Better option if using it as a computer is concerned (multiple windows would make more sense there - And DeX got better with windows resize/fullscreen etc..).
Battery management seems better I think... Getting noticeably better results there.
Absolutely need to undo what was done. It's horrible, lots of things you can't control anymore.
Where did notification control go for each app?
HAve you received anything back from Samsung or ATT...this is extremely poor coding...while there is a phone handset icon on the text area it is no where near where you type and it does this stupid auto dial when you go out of the text area...drives me crazy in meetings and all day long...
Mine updated last night and I hate it too. It looks like a small kid's phone - the new icons are clunky and ugly and every single interface has changed needlessly. It doesn't feel nearly as intuitive to use. Also, Bixby (which is useless and just gets in the way) now wants to relaunch and re-engage with me and I can't switch it off, and all the Samsung native apps have reset their notifications to 'on' so I'm getting a home screen cluttered with stuff I had hidden.
There's no on-screen tutorials explaining the changes or any new functionality - I just woke up this morning to find my phone no longer works the way it did yesterday.
My phone was just fine as it was - I want my old UI back!
I downloaded the Samsung Members app as someone here suggested that it would be a better place to pass on feedback and I found that the 'optional' marketing sign-up is not optional at all! Ticking "I've read and agreed to all of the above" in order to start the app forces the "receive marketing information (optional)" box to be ticked. There's no way to start without agreeing to the supposedly optional marketing information, which I absolutely do not want.
Does Samsung not want our feedback?
This update hit my S9 phone this morning on the EE network in the UK.
I have worked in the IT industry for nearly 30 years and I have never seen a more awful interface.
They haven't just change the icons but the colours as well. Not very consistant in helping your DDA compliance with customers.
The clock is now in the top left and refuses to show AM/PM. There is no option to move it.
The notification area in the top left gets icons stuck in it that won't go.
The notifications on the lock screen have changed and won't show information properly.
The notification area in the top right now doesn't show the bluetooth icon when it is on. So I have to constantly check it.
I could go on, but you get the picture. This is utter garbage!
