Why is the front camera on my S25 ultra so bad?

My front camera quality is very very subpar, worse than on my s22 ultra. Is there a fix for this?

The problem is that is it not more detailed than before, it's worse. I don't think you're listening to what I'm saying

I believe the s22 has a 40MP front camera while the s25 has a 12MP camera. So maybe that's what the issue is

Why have all the newer phones got a worse selfie camera now? What's the thought process behind that?

Here is an old snippet from a site when Samsung ditched the 40MP on the front facing camera

"A 12MP selfie camera will still produce crisp shots, without inducing body dysphoria because of otherwise overlooked skin concerns. After all - who needs to see their pimples in 4K?"

At the end of the day. It is what it is.
I guess women generally like softer pictures which makes their faces smooth.

I repeat myself again. Play with lighting if you are not happy with the output.

I love that everyone is comparing the quality of two compressed files. 😂😂 What we see is no where near what you see on your phone... But I'm sure there's some setting that might be fiddled with to make it better, try turning off the ai functions.

Sorry to hear of your issues with the selfie camera on S25 Ultra

I haven't started using the camera myself as yet so haven't checked this out..

For your pictures, clearly the subject matter is fab so it then goes to the images. Problem is, they are compressed on the forum so what you are seeing is likely very different to what we see seeing.

Have you gone into the image on gallery and tried the edit functions yet?

I dare not take a selfie or I'll scare myself 😉

What's important here is that what you see in regards to the photo quality is not what you like or have experienced with a previous generstion of phone. 

The members here that are replying to you have quite a bit of experience especially with photo taking ,so are just trying to help. 

Maybe send this issue your currently experiencing as feedback via your Samsung Members App.

HI, I am also facing the same issue, it looks like a 3rd grade cheap phone. I was using S22 and front camera on it is way better than this S25 Ultra. It looks like as if pixels are breaking on the front cam.
