@sarasphotoboxYou could try a Reset after Backing up as suggested and see if that makes a difference. Would be interesting to see the stats though. Think your Battery life would improve a but after the learning phase in any case. Is there a noticeable difference with your previous device?
Of course if you are thinking of returning only a limited window, the base model does not have the most powerful Battery, I think you would get used to the Plus in time. There are limited compact options. Would you be interested at all in Flip Devices otherwise though modern S Devices I think are superior?

Hi,
I would do a reset. I wouldn't do any data restore except contacts, messages and pictures. No apps or settings configurations.
It should help...
