Why is it in today's technology from Samsung that they don't have the ability to use face recognition to sign into everything like backing apps. I also have the iPhone 15 pro max and you can sign into everything regardless of what it is by just looking at the screen. My Samsung all have to use pin or fingerprint.

It's not considered secure enough on android as it uses the camera and could be tricked - iPhone uses a different technology for face unlock.

Fingerprint is the most secure.

It could be that the faceid on samsung is not as advanced or secure as that on a apple device. I too have the iPhone 15 pro max and love the faceID. But if I'm honest, I'm not sure if I'd like that so much if that phone was my daily driver.

I more prefer the finger print option as given by samsung.

You'll most likely find it isn't Samsung restricting this, but the banks themselves who create the apps.

Have you approached your bank on this question to ascertain why they don't support facial?

I actually get annoyed with my iPhone face unlock and you HAVE to pick it up to interact with it

They do support it but only on iPhone not Samsung ones. I guess it's like others have said the security of the face Id on a Samsung

That's really on the side of the Banks. The technology is there, but they won't use it for safety reasons and Yes, it's unsafe because some implementation allows your picture to be used to gain access. There's a piece from BBC I'm Oct. 2024 about scammers using people's pictures to gain access.

If any financial institution I use implements face recognition for access, I'm definitely not going to use it. We already have fast, secure, and easy access via the ultrasonic fingerprint function.

I know with Google account you can use the face recognition as an option when setting things up with them and you don't want to use a pin or password which they are trying to move us from doing so.

The insecure face unlock is why I now don't use it on my Samsung phone, as it's far too annoying when your phone unlocks with your face but Google pay won't work without secure verification.

It's a great feature on my Honor magic pro7 though as they do support secure face unlock.
