In June of this year, I decided to upgrade from my Samsung. Galaxy s nine phone to something more modern. My final choice was between apple iPhone15 or the samsung S24 Ultra. I chose the Samsung because the phone camera specifications looked much better than those of the apple phone. In retrospect, it was one of the worst decisions I have ever made because since June I have had nothing but problems with the camera freezing and only becoming of use again after restarting the phone.
The phone has been back to samsung for repair twice now, and each time the samsung engineers are unable to replicate the fault. I have taken screenshots of the diagnostic reports, showing the camera has failed each time so I guess for everyone is or should be in agreement that there is something wrong with the phone. It seems obvious to me that the Samsung diagnostic software in use by samsung engineers, is not up to to the job it is supposed to be doing in that it is not stretching the phone as an ordinary user would.. if samsung cannot repair this phone, then they should replace it.Or am I missing something here.
As I said, before buying this phone was one of the worst decisions I have ever made.

@Edwardjohn: I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered persistent issues with the Camera on your Galaxy S24 Ultra. If the device has been inspected by an authorised Samsung engineer, and no fault has been found, then the issue could potentially be stemming from a third party source. With this in mind I recommend restarting the phone in Safe mode, as this will disable all third party apps, and help to verify if the issue is indeed being caused by external factors.

To enter Safe mode, press and hold the Power button until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release > Touch and hold Power off until the 'Safe mode' prompt appears then release > To confirm, tap Safe mode.

With Safe mode active, monitor the performance of the device for a few hours, based on the frequency that you encounter the issue. If you find that the camera no longer freezes/shows an error, then please restart your S24 Ultra as you would normally and uninstall any apps that you have added to the device since you first encountered the issue. It won't be possible to determine exactly which app is at fault, therefore I recommend approaching this via a process of elimination.

Hi.

Out of curiosity did you do a smartswitch transfer 🤔 when you set up the phone?

I originally did a Smart Switch from my Samsung. S9, which had been working perfectly for about 6 years, and then when I kept encountering the camera freezing problems, I did a factory, reset, uploaded a subset of everything back again and then that the fault still persisted. So I sent it in for repair and it came back when your engineers could not replicate the problem. And then it happened again and again, so i'm really fed up with this, to be honest.

As I have explained before, the fault can manifest after 1, 2 or three days. I have had to revert to using my Samsung. S nine because this s twenty four ultra, is really not fit for purpose. It certainly is not a case of monitoring it for a few hours. I would have to monitor it for several days.

The latest situation is that I have restarted the phone and I have deleted every app I could except my banking apps which are so difficult to set back up.And I cannot really see how a banking app would affect the dammed samsung operating system.

Would you consider doing a full reset and setting up your phone as new without restoring apps and settings?

Rest you can recover from backup up.

And then install apps as and when you need them.

I have already done a factory reset and reloaded a subset of applications, none of which anyone will class as dodgy, and the fault persists.
