Battery draining 31% overnight

Hi all. My S24 battery has dropped 31% overnight, even though I always turn off wifi and location at night. I had this problem a few weeks ago, until I turned off app auto-update in playstore. The battery improved for a while, but now it's doing it again.

See screenshot below: no apps used overnight. Any suggestions on what could be causing it? Thanks!

Hi! Welcome to the samsung members community!!

This is normally done with general battery drain

@Piper123 for credit on this.
Copy EXACTLY as written.

Go to settings- and turn off auto blocker.

On the samsung phone Dial *#9900# then scroll down to battery stats reset. Click then restart your phone.

Turn Auto Blocker back on
Restart device

Wait 14 days for battery optimisation to complete.

Turning WiFi off at night probably increases battery usage during the day. High usage like that usually suggests an app is keeping the phone awake, probably trying to connect to the Internet because you turned WiFi off.

Normal overnight drain I'd say is about 10-15%

That makes sense, and was my initial thought but then my battery settings say "no app usage" overnight, so I'm not sure if it is this?

Is there any way to find out which app is keeping the phone awake?

It's really complicated so lemme explain some android things.

When the screen is off, the phone enters doze or deep sleep mode(specifics not important). This means the phone pauses everything and basically consumes no power. Now and again it wakes up, apps check for notifications, then it goes back to sleep. Apps are allowed to prevent this from happening if they are busy doing something. So a single app can sorta keep the phone awake all night long, using loads of battery. The app itself won't be using much battery, but the fact it's not going to sleep means the entire phone keeps using power.

Since this is a kinda deep system level thing, the only way to monitor it us using a pc and running commands on the phone.

For more practical things to try. Make sure you reboot the phone once a week. Check if any apps can be optimised in "optimise battery usage" under special permissions. It's actually missing on my phone but I'm hoping that's just a beta thing.

Just to add to the great comments.
Battery drain is generally the phone checking for Bluetooth devices, Location, WiFi etc.

Maybe you are better of keeping everything ON and see what's contributing to the drain.

Have night mode set up
