Battery and WIifi icon are gray on lockscreen

Since updating to One UI 7, whenever I turn on my screen, the battery and wifi icons are gray but return to white after I tap on the screen. I do not know if this is a setting I can change or if its just standard with One UI 7. Would like a fix for this as it is quite annoying at times. I have attached an image of this.

Check what wallpaper or theme and or icons you currently have enabled

Found out it was the icons style of lockscreen notifications make the status bar gray but the cards option doesn't. Weirdly enough on my friend's phone she has it set to icons and her status bar is not gray. Thanks for you help!
