Just wondering if there is any official response from Samsung regarding S24 Ultra washed colour display ?
Understand there is a chat response mentioned had been quoted on different places but didn't come accross with any official samsung presser regarding what solution Samsung will offer ?

Hey there

Nothing I'm afraid.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Then looks like Samsung had launched unfinished product in haste. Shame phone is fast comparing to S23 Ultra, just display and washed colours turning it down.

I guess it depends on which camp you sit in.

Camp 1 says no issue.
Camp 2 says major issue.

Some reports suggest Samsung saying the screen is "by design".
Other reports suggest a software update may follow in due course.

I guess until an update comes (if it ever comes) the debate may roll on.

Same here with my S24. The colours are really washed out and look ugly compared to so many cheaper androids

Do you have the Adaptive Colour Tone Settings and Eye shield turned On ?

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I think that there is more than one issue wrapped into one adding to the confusion.

I would add a 3rd camp,

Camp 3, says there is a issue(s), but do not care about it.

An update will come, whether it will solve all camps' issues, it is another story.

I saw this upate on tech radar .
A couple of days ago we reported that Samsung had acknowledged the problem and was working on a fix, because a Samsung chat support representative had posted a message saying that a "coming software update" would restore normal service.

Apparently that chat representative was misinformed – or maybe Samsung has changed its mind. It would now seem that the current configuration is the one that Samsung is going to stick with.

It's a major issue. Considering the screen looks the worst it has in the last 3 year vs S21U-S23U phones this is sad. It's 2024...so yeahhh. Muted colors, poor contrast visuals in photos with background like the sky, clouds, water, etc. Watch Peru 8k in HDR on YouTube side by side with one of those other devices and the differences are dramatic and pretty shocking really that we could go this far backwards on a new device...

Again it's 2024 we should be going forwards with the S24U. People who are saying that it doesn't bother them are simply not paying attention. Anyone can chose to not pay attention but that doesn't make the issue less real and it's pretty dang sad considering this is basically unprecedented in Samsung phones...hence why people call it a big issue. Oh and yeah that screen thing on your phone...u look at it almost 100% of the time that u are using the phone. Well enough said there.

Trying to be fair to people because I know everyone is tech savy or a professional photographer but this thing is a big time let down and Samsung will almost certainly have to address it soon. They 100% know that they have created a subpar product which should have been the best tier product of all cell phone 2024 but comes in far behind.
