Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with the power button on my Galaxy S24 plus. The button has always felt a bit strange from the beginning, but initially it still worked when I pressed the lower half – it gave a clear "click" and some tactile feedback.

However, for the past two weeks, there is no mechanical resistance or click sound at all. The button now feels completely soft and unresponsive. It only works if I press it very hard and deep – and even then, not always reliably.

Because of this, double-clicking the power button is no longer possible, and overall usability is significantly affected.

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a reliable fix? Is this likely a hardware defect?

Thanks in advance!

I once had that problem with an older phone. A little bit of isopropyl alcohol on a piece of cloth and rubbing the power button had helped back then.

If it at least sounds like the button may be broken, in this case, you have to contact Samsung.

By the way, if it is just the button itself, it can be replaced easily.
