I recently upgraded to the s23 ultra on release day paying for the phone in full to samsung and traded in my s21 ultra..the trade in centre have sent me a picture of a phone that isn't my old one 2 weeks after they received it claiming its damaged and are charging me £75 for it to be repaired. Apparently I have no choice to pay or return my new phone...done with Samsung over this.. it's not the money its the principle

Is it a different colour or model?
I always say to anyone to take date stamped photos of the phone before sending it in.
Including it turned on to show the screen
Show packaging etc
Even the returns label on the box before handing it over.
You should be able to challenge this and get them to prove the phone is yours.

Same model and colour but the picture they sent had damage to the back top edge and they said it was "delaminated" considering it's silver and aluminium I find that impossible. I've sent the picture and raised a complaint with samsung

I had to send my trade in device to MTR which I believe is a separate company from Samsung. A specialist refurbishing company. Could you flag your concerns directly with Samsung?

Can you compare the IMEI numbers to argue that they're not looking at the right phone?

I've asked them to prove it's actually my phone but they won't listen..basically it's up to them and if I didn't pay the £75 my new phone will be blocked. Absolute shambles of a company

That's completely unacceptable. At the very least they should have to prove it's the same phone by the IMEI number and then argue with you about whether it was damaged. If they don't prove it's the right phone then they could have made a mistake. Where is this trade in center?

Edit: NVM I looked them up on Google. They sure have a lot of bad reviews but a couple of them suggest they were able to get through it after complaining to Samsung. As in your deal is with Samsung not them. I would follow up with Samsung about being extorted.
