Got any tips and tricks you’ve found for setting up super-shiny new Samsung smartphones to get the best out of them that you'd like to share with your fellow Community members? Feel free to share them here!

I’ll kick off with the tip to have a SIM in the phone when you do the initial setup to prompt a “service provider” update... which should ensure you get the features, services and software updates that're relevant to you (e.g. stuff like Samsung Pay or Samsung Wallet).

If your using smartswitch, avoid copying apps and download them from the app stores. Make sure you turn chat features off on old device first before you put your sim in new phone. Apparently it can block you from the jibe server. Meaning waiting the long weeks for it to connect again. Make sure to look up top battery saving tips, keeping the best features on still off course. Don't forget to protect that shiny new phone, with a cool case and screen protector before you step out your door 😁.

Check that you got all your files and photos before wiping old phone.

The excitement of the new phone can cause a medical condition called Excitement confusion 🤣

Keep everything Auto and/or Adaptive and don't dumb down your phone.
Make full use of what it's got to offer.
Especially when it's brand new as it will learn your usage pattern better.

I use Google One. So keep changing phones or resetting them and no issues.
I like to reset my phone after each major android update.
Also gives me the feeling of getting a new phone and manually add my apps as and when I need them.

Ensure that Find My Mobile is Activated for Tracing purposes.  Will not able to locate if not Toggled on in Advance. Go to Security and Privacy-Find My Mobile.  There are options for Remote unlock and offline Finding.  short video here

Check all system your security and Privacy Settings,  ensure you have the most up to date security patch and the latest Google Pay  system update available.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

I always use my Samsung Cloud Back ups.

I prefer not to use Samsung Smartswitch to move my information across.

I also check all my relevant information has downloaded into Samsung Pass.

Check that any Public Transport information has moved to the new app.

i.e your ticket.

Then I check and set up my Internet Banking App.

Apps can be downloaded via the Playstore MyLibrary if required.

I also use Dropbox.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
