Help, I haven't had a software or security update on my S23 Plus since Decemeber 2024. This is now 8 months and it's concerning. Samsung chat have said One UI7 will come to the device but when. My CSC is EUX/-/EUX/EVR.

It should have come to your device months ago. Something has gone wrong with your update system.

Do you currently have a UK EE sim card in it or do you have another carriers sim?

It's an unlocked phone, with a Asda mobile sim (vodaphone)

I've never actually seen smart switch update a phone before, so I wouldn't trust it saying up to date.

Your said your phone has the code EVR. I think that means EE specific. Using a non EE sim card might be causing the issue.

Update issues are really hard to diagnose. Usually it's caused by being in the wrong country, you have a uk phone and a uk sim so that's not it. I kinda think it's because you have a non EE sim.

Try putting an EE sim in, see if it updates

Is it a genuine phone out of the box or second-hand stuff? What's Knox's bit value, 00 or 01? Even if there was a successful attempt to unlock the bootloader that irreversibly sets the Knox bit to 01, which means - no more official updates from Samsung. Once Knox is broken down, there's no way to reset it because it's hardware protection on the phone's motherboard. And the phone becomes excluded from official support. Of course, provider software also matters. Depends on how rebranding has been made, and what software your phone actually got. Also is worth to check the official Samsung website for updates schedule for your model. Good luck!

It was second hand from back market. It's KNOX is 00, just checked. Samsung have confirmed it is a legitimate phone and only said it will get the update to One UI 7. However I know there has been a security update since that I haven't recieved

Try this: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s23-plus/firmware/SM-S916B/EUX/if you have USB drivers + Odin firmware flasher, preferably in Windows. This website has a good reputation and offers genuine firmware. Hope you are familiar with it. Also, do a full backup before. I think it's obvious. And as always, if you decide it's on your responsibility. Otherwise, don't do that if you are not 100% sure. Good luck!
