Quick panel gone after update

Help! I just installed updates on my S23FE and now, nothing happens when I swipe down from the top of the screen. I suddenly have no access to the quick panel whatsoever.

This means I can't quickly turn on my flashlight, adjust screen brightness, or choose my screen to flip horizontally. I've already rebooted my phone twice and the problem persists.

Another problem is the navigation panel at the bottom. Instead of three buttons (apps, home and back), I only have the back button now. So now I have to press back several times to go to my home screen and can't easily navigate between apps that are already open. It forces me to go back to home and click on the app icons each time.

I've selected my button configuration in the navigation panel settings (which order you want your back, home and apps buttons) but it doesn't matter. Regardless of the choice, all I get is a back button on the bottom left.

I can only hope this is a glitch because if someone thought of this to "streamline" the interface, they only made things worse!!!

@Members_eycUxDm: This is certainly not an intended change to the interface that you're experiencing. When you swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom, then again to enlarge the Quick Panel, what can you see? Do you have any custom themes or user interfaces installed on the device?

I understand that you have attempted a restart without success, but I also recommend pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power buttons for around 10 seconds until the phone restarts. This will perform a Soft Reset, and resolve any software issues which might be a contributing factor. Don't worry, this won't affect your personal data or settings.

That didn't work. Any other suggestions to get it back the way it was?

So, I figured it out. Quick settings panel is not gone. The update just split the screen in half and swiping down on the left side only shows notifications. You have to swipe down on the top right to get the quick panel. Also of you want to change it back the way we are accustomed to then here's how:

To get the quick panel back on your Galaxy S23, you might need to adjust your swipe-down gesture settings in One UI 7. By default, swiping down on the right side reveals the quick panel, while swiping down on the left reveals notifications. You can switch to the old-style where swiping down from anywhere on the screen reveals both notifications and quick settings.

Here's how to change the swipe-down gesture settings:

 Open the Quick Settings Panel:

Swipe down from the top right of the screen to access the quick settings panel.

Access Panel Settings:

Tap the pencil icon in the upper right corner to enter Edit mode.

Change Panel Settings:

Tap on "Panel Settings" and change the option from "Separate" to "Together".

 Enjoy the Old Style:

Now, when you swipe down from anywhere on the screen, both notifications and quick settings will be displayed.

Thank you so so so much for the instructions. I am not tech savvy- I did not grow up with it- and you saved me a trip into the store to be grumpy and to get help!!!! Your good deed for the day. Thank you again for the info!!

What an utterly idiotic update. I'm truly shocked that somebody who would consider that a good idea can find gainful employment at all, much less in tech. Hopefully the late nights and early redbulls have taken their toll by now the world would be far better off for it

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for this!  I had the same thing happen and I was about to take a hammer to my Samsung tablet.

Hi did you solve this problem.  I installed One UI 7 and my quick control panel is totally gone on my S24.  I cannot swipe from top or left or right or double swipe.

Thanks

Did you figure this out?  When mine first updated I understood the left and right thing and i was able to access settings from upper right.    This morning there is nothing there to access. No quick panel settings at all. I don't even know how to get to the settings except through that.
