All apps using same notification sound

I'm finding it very weird to understand why all of my apps are using the same default notification sound.

Facebook, Messenger and Snapchat are the main culprits because they should play their own default sound and not the default notification sound for the phone itself.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue if there is a workaround? Or would it be best to contact Samsung to explain the issue and ask if they can fix it?

You need to go into settings > notifications > app notifications. Select the app you want, then go to notification categories > general notification > sound, or in app notification settings, which is under notification categories. Choose the notification you want for the app. Hope this helps.

They are using the default sound
This can easily be rectified by allocating different sounds to your apps.

This happens when you transfer data using Smart Switch you have to clear the app data and it'll restore the default sounds

That's exactly what I did with a few of the apps that were having this issue, and it fixed it straight away.

Hi, i just got the samsung s23 ultra and for the lige of me I cannot set up different notifications sounds for different app. I went into setting notifications categories and tried to select individual sou ds for different apps but it does not work, the notifications sound is still a different one across all apps. I am now really annoyed. I also tried deleting cache , deleting data reinstalling apps and none proved to fix it !

@Emsge: Please swipe up from your Home screen and head to Settings > Apps > Select an app > Notifications > Notification categories > Select a category > Sound, and apply your preferred option from here. If you apply the same settings to the relevant notification categories, and follow these steps for any apps you'd like to customise, then you should be good to go.
