Samaung update changed date in all my WhatsApp pictures

Hey, I just updated my S23+, as I have not done it for a while and one of the last 2 updates changed the date of all my WhatsApp pictures that are saved on my phone to a new date. Therefore, the order is all messed up. How do I change it back? Would going back to the previous updates changed it back? Please help

What version do you have now? did you create a backup before the update?

Did you make a WhatsApp backup

The last one was done on April 3rd.  But the pictures on WhatsApp itself are still there. Just the date in my gallery got completely messed up.

Which date? The Date of the Pictures

14th of February 2023 but the pictures are from anything before up to 2019

Many WhatsApp pictures haven't got a date in their Meta Data. It could be that Samsung Gallery thinks that the Pictures are from the new date.

But before the updates they had their original date when the picture was first sent, and the title still has that date. I could always go back in the picture timline and find those pictures at the very bottom because unlike my camera roll I kept my WhatsApp pictures on my phone since 2019. They were always at the bottom. Now they are mingled somewhere and got a new date.
