Crazy. Before really didn't need sd card. Now with 4k you definitely need sd card (extra memory) and you take it off the S22 ultra! Don't make sense🤷🏽‍♂️

Hi @j48ble know some customers value SD  cards  however not the fastest technology and can be prone to error .   Lack of Sd card slot started with the s21 series,Samsung now offer bigger internal storage  though the premium for the 1TB may be a bit steep for some.

The higher the internal memory higher the price! Cheaper to get a high capacity SD card. Pity it's gone. That's why I'm sticking with my Note 10+, got a 512gb SD card

I can see the argument in favour and against the SD cards. The fact that they are not the fastest or prone to error are not good reasons not to have them. People know that they are not the fastest, but still want them and pretty much every storage technology is prone to error. SD cards are cheap and convenient. If the phone breaks, the data can be move very easily.

Of course, the fact that one could connect a USB fast drive and move the data without the need of a third device might be a reasonable mitigating factor.

The 1TB is indeed plenty of fast storage. I rather have it than the SD card option. If only Samsung could deliver them. A lot of us will need to wait for at least 6 weeks and no clear indication on when will they be delivered. However, Samsung has taken full payment from the first second.

Sometime ago when a couple of Sd Card's I was using corrupted and I lost lots of pictures and documents I decided then to come away from using Sd Cards and look at the alternatives, even before manufacturers decided to remove the Sd Card facility.

My preference is to not move available apps to a sd card as this alone can bring hiccups.

Now I buy the biggest storage capacity I believe I need and use online vaults.

My advice to people when there looking at upgrading is to purchase the largest storage capacity they can afford and look at online vaults.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

@Reylob  SD cards will continue to have their but I think a fast large internal storage is the better option if you can justify the higher cost.  of course a bit of a wait for the 1TB option and ideally Samsung would charge on despatch.

@BandOfBrothers  yes I lost  some confidence in SD cards a while ago and advisable not to move apps to  the cards.  I also have a mobile portable storage drive for back up as well as making use of cloud services.

I've always have galaxy's ever since the 1st one was released, this S22 ultra is everything I want, screen, camera and features but your storage capacity is the absolute worst I've ever had, you really messed up with no sd card, I thought you of learned from the last time you tried it, and the argument of theres errors and speed is just tripe, at least you have the option if you want it , really disappointed seriously, lower spec hand sets have more storage and sd options , and thus flagship handset has sunk
