What is the best app or methodology to remove or prevent malware and scam problems

Don't install apps out of Google store. Don't open or click on unsolicited links in emails or messages. Don't answer unsolicited calls. Remember if it sounds or seems too good to be true, stay away

@bigun: Further to the advice above, please head to the Phone app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Caller ID & spam protection > On > Block spam & scam calls > On. It's also worth regularly checking Settings > Battery and device care > Device protection > Scan phone, to check your device for malware and suspicious activity.
