I'm not seeing this on my Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra on the latest April update.
Can you check inside the phone's USB-c port just to ensure there's no building up of debris inside.
As a process of elimination can you try the cables in another phone and alternative cables in your phone @joehonda
A diagnostic can be ran via Settings > Battery and Device Care > Diagnostics.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
