Greetings Samsung community, I wanted to ask if there's any way I can disable Samsung's Continuity Service? I only have my phone as a Samsung device and I believe it's not really a necessity for me to keep this service right now.

image
Continuity Service using battery than the other apps I mainly use.

As you can see here, sometimes it's draining battery more than the other apps I use more and I'm not even sure what it's doing, cause I have everything that may access it off.

image
Options that may be related to the service turned off.

image
"Call & text on other devices" never initialized.

I would greatly appreciate any help with this case. I'm not even asking how to uninstall it or remove it completely. I just want it to be stopped (cause even if I "Force Stop" it or uninstall the updates, it still starts up on its own) or disabled in any way, then have the ability to enable it whenever I may necessarily need it.

Thanks in advance🙏🏼

Hi @xzkl,

if you’ve been actively using the Continuity service, it’s normal for power consumption to be high. The service requires a lot of energy, as it involves a constant exchange of large amounts of data.

However, if you haven’t used the app, then the situation is unusual.

Have you already tried clearing the data and cache memory of the process? Here's how:

> Settings

> Apps

> Continuity Service

> Storage

> Clear data

Let me know how it goes. 🙂 I'm here if you need anything.

Have a nice day!

Hi @xzkl

in this case, it could be a system anomaly.

In order to correct system errors, I recommend backing up your personal data and resetting your phone.

To perform the backup, I recommend using Smart Switch. Remember that the data will be deleted.

Let me know, thank you. I remain at your disposal.

Have a nice day! ☺️

I swear, I don't use the service at all! I just use my phone mainly for basic communication, consuming media, shopping and a bit of gaming.

Plus, I only have this phone as my Samsung product, so there's really no ecosystem I'm trying to utilize here.

I did already try doing the steps you told me and they actually work at first! but after a while, it would always end up starting the service again and just start consuming battery having no idea what it does really 😭

Is there any alternative ways I could disable this(?)
