Samsung calendar app not allowing Samsung account in secure folder

I was advised to post this here.

As per title, you cannot use the calendar app in the secure folder if you want to use your Samsung account.

This seems to defeat the purpose of the Samsung calendar app + know since both are Samsungs creations.

A feature or bug?

It seems the idea is to keep it separate

I don't understand the significance of that remark.

It's a calendar. It's a Samsung calendar. Why would it need to be kept separate ? From what?

Samsung made both items . Knox and their own version of a calendar. Why on earth would they prohibited you from keeping it in a secure folder?

Worst still Samsung can't even explain it.

Calendar in safe folder works but it is kept separate from other calendar accounts

I think you gave misunderstood the issue I've described.

If it was separate the fine but the issue is that you can't have a Samsung calendar in a secure folder. So it isn't a reason.

I have Samsung calendar installed in the secure folder, always did. What happens when you try to install it?

This might be due to Android/ phone version.

Samsung guys tried it at my request and found the same thing.

In secure folder the Google account is already there. Pressing the '+' goes straight to Google to add another Google account. There is no option to add your Samsung account.

Out of the secure folder pressing '+' offers a list of account types where Samsung and Google are included.

Therefore it is impossible to even have a blank Samsung calendar.

However, if it ends up being blank with no option to copy data over, this'll be useless to me and nonsensical since connecting to Samsung account should populate it via the syncing.

yes, that's exactly what i see. the app is Samsung calendar app only the google email gets offered to add as new account. i thought it might because i have the same gmail linked to Samsung account but i think maybe it is by design and they purposely kept separate. in any case the calendars are not synchronised so of no use to me either. you could send a feedback via Samsung members app

I tried first via "ask a question." The responder didn't know anything. I asked him to try it, and he found the same thing and asked me to post here.

It's hard to get any acknowledgement of the problem, let alone any explanation of their thinking.

I'll save the grief and just forget trying to use secure folder 🙂

Thanks for your help, anyway 👍

This probably isn't much help, & is a late reply, but it seems if you share your calendar then it works - however I have no idea how I did it, & it worked only using my samsung tablet & phone. It's only showing on my tablet so far, but there must therefore be someway of doing it. If you google it AI seems to give proper hints. All I can say is that somehow it can be done. Apologies I can't help further
