Replacing a main board is not as phone replacements. It has some risks of damaging other parts; as you just wrote, it might not be done correctly and you, as a client, might not be aware of it.

April update?
I had issue with not immediately working gps on exynos with april update. i have given my advice for some basic troubleshooting in the thread. it helped me.

if the morherbard replacement is done correctly, it is the same as new phone. basically you repace everything soldered on the board - processor, ram, storage, all sensors (GPS included), all controllers too. I did not elaborated in details, because it is obvious, and i have reasonable expectations that people can figure this much by themselves without detailed explanations.

Think, use your head. This errors you are suffering is made in the factory, not by human. What if the same error is made in the factory again. What if the person who assembles sees something wrong that the machine misses? The machine simply slaps parts together and moves on to the next device.
It is not a perfect world. it was never a perfect world. When millions units are produces, there will be some bad lemons here and there. Just accept the replacement of the motherboard or replacement of the phone. Nothing will fix if you take no actions. if you simply sit here and cry i am screwed, yes you are screwed and you will be until you take actions. If you expect me to babysit you and hold your hand like on a little child, you are wrong. You know what you have to do, do it and get it over with.

unfortunately in Malaysia they are not offering to replace unit. Only repair as per standard.
I can appeal for replacement but will take 1-2 months upon "special approval" and may get rejected.
Since all the sensors in the phone works + GPS Status (app) seems to fix if I reset A-GPS, I am hoping Samsung fixes this with OTA.
For me it seems like certain batch of motherboards handle software instructions differently than others.
