for this price, Samsung must give us the perfection itself. For this price range and market placement - premium flagships, the S22 ultra is a disaster. it is fixed little by little, patch after patch, issue after issue, for every issue fixed new issue emerges. Shame.
I also ranted that Exynos is inferior chip, and yes, it is. IT is much better than before, true, but it still is the inferior chip. Snapgragon is still superior, Mediatek is still superior. I hope Samsung finally wakes up and open their eyes. We do not want the inferior Exynos. I will be happy with the mediatek. But make no mistakes Snapdragon has its issues. Snapdragons based phones are also full of their bugs and patches.

I know that Snapgradon also has issues with GPS, but i had the impression you are using Exynos based devcie....

Good afternoon all,
I was just wondering if other people out there are still having GPS issues since the April update as this thread seems to have calmed down so much since the latest patch was released a few weeks ago?
I am asking this because I have read and followed all of the suggestions in the 48 pages of this thread and installed the April update but I am still having problems.
@AntS - are you able to confirm if the April update was the one that was meant to fully resolve the GPS issues? If so, I think I can speak on behalf of everybody when I say that we would really appreciate your confirmation. That way, those who are continuing to have issues can start reaching out to Samsung for a physical repair with the peace of mind knowing that there aren't any additional upcoming software fixes that promise to tackle the problem.
Thank you in advance.

Hi @AntonioMerretti - Thank you so much for your reply. I am finding that my Google Maps Timeline omits huge parts of my journeys and that the signal only updates when I open the app. Furthermore, when I am inside a building, the location pointer in Google Maps always stays grey until I go back outside again and whenever I take a picture indoors, it never saves the GPS coordinates - just the "approximate location" based on my Google Maps Timeline history. I have never experienced this with any Android phone that I’ve owned previously.

Hi @AntonioMerretti - Thank you for your response. I have used the GPS apps mentioned in this thread but I am losing the connection in buildings where I go frequently and where I have never had problems previously with phones that were much older and much cheaper than the S22 Ultra.
Furthermore, my Google Maps Timeline omits huge sections of my routes even if I am out in the open air. Even though I have excluded the Google Maps app from all memory and battery saving modes, it seems that it can only keep a consistent and stable connection outdoors when it is actively being used.
Let's hope that @AntS can confirm if all software fixes aimed at improving the GPS have now been rolled out before I go down the repair route. 🤞🏼

Same here. April update worked for me too. it did not worked immediately, i had to clean caches and repair apps, both from the recovery menu, then inused some gps utility, to clean old a-gps data, rwset the gps and download new a-gps data under the assumptions i have corrupted caches and corrupted data, and rebuilding the chaches and it worked.

I used GPS management utility outside, in the open, to manage my phone's GPS.

I have still problems with my S22 (not ultra) and GPS. In Android Auto, it always looses GPS fix after some time (matter of minutes). When I switch off/on location service, it works again. Does not matter if I use Google Maps or Waze. Seems like Exynos software problem to me. Hope Samsung can fix this in next update...
