So I didn't try putting the phone in safe mode, but over the weekend I used the phone very little. Like, pretty much just Google search, Spotify & my car's app. Didn't get the issue.
Obviously, the phone being new, the first days I was opening apps left & right to set them up again. So I'm definitely leaning towards an app causing this. As to what app I don't know. I did think a bit about the issue, like what apps generally stop the screen from going off when the case is closed and I landed on stuff like screen share & remote control. So stuff where the screen can't go off because it's either mirrored or controlled by another device.
Far as I'm aware I didn't have any apps doing that at the time but maybe the phone thought it was activated? I'll have to check -or if someone else has the issue- if going into apps and force closing stuff like screen share fixes it.
