S22 Ultra, brand new, will not run Facebook (says Connection Lost)

I have tried clearing my cache, I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, resetting network settings, updating the app, etc . I log in (which works on every other android and apple device in the house, including this PC) and it goes straight to a 'Connection Lost' screen with 'tap to retry'. It just flashes blue if I tap it. I don't know what else to do. I just got this phone yesterday so I don't want to have to send it back, it's perfect *except* for this. I need FB as I run groups as a part of my job. 

 

PS, Messenger won't work either but I think that's because the main app won't work. FB lite works and the mobile website on Chrome...problem with that is that I don't have access to messenger which I need.  I am in England if that makes any difference.

When you uninstall Facebook from the phone please also go into your Playstores MyLibrary and delete the app from there too.

That way when your downloading the Facebook app again your then downloading a fresh copy.

Once downloaded take a look at the preferences of the app in Settings > Apps > Facebook. 

There are some troubleshooting guides via a Google Search,  one being Facebook - Connection Lost. 

Personally I uninstall Facebook from my phone as I find the app a resource hog and then I access Facebook via my phone's browsers url bar. 

I appreciate Facebook Messenger is needed due to what you write.

Yes but not sure how exactly. I did everything that the forums suggested. It still wasn't working then there was a share button and even though FB wasn't working I tried sharing a photo and boom it came up and worked. I have no odea why because it didn't work before I shared it.

Mine was fine after update, I cleared crèche and updated fb and fb messenger.

I have this issue as well, have tried everything! When you say you shared a photo, how did you do that if you couldn't log in?
