My Samsung S22 has become extremely slow and glitchy since I updated to One UI 6. Apps are slow, keep crashing and flicker green pixels as shown in the screenshot. The issue affects all apps, even just browsing phone settings, unlocking home screen etc.

Things I've tried so far:
  • OneUI home update from Samsung store
  • Clearing cache partition
  • Factory reset (was hoping this would revert to UI version I had when I bought the phone so I could try reinstalling 6 but it kept current version)
  • Turning off RAM Plus
  • Changing frame rate to 60 Hz
  • Safe mode
I have sent an error report to Samsung but wondering if there's anything else I can try while waiting for their response?

You are doing it incorrectly. on any Samsung phone.

Wipe Cache

1) Turn off the device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up key and the spower button.

3) When the Android logo displays, release all keys.

4) Press the Volume down key to navigate and select "Wipe cache partition".

5) Press Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Select Reboot System.

6) Press the Power key to restart the device.

Factory Reset

⚠️⚠️ BEFORE you Factory Reset, Disable 2-Step Verification ⚠️⚠️

If you forget, it's not the end of the world, you can normally use your device's phone number to verify your identity via text.

Repeat the above steps, but instead of Scrolling down to Wipe Cache, Scroll down to Wipe Data Factory Reset.

After a Factory Reset, your device will be as it was when you first received it.

You will need to start at the Welcome Screen.

⚠️You will need to know your Passwords.

I followed your instructions exactly. Sorry but it doesn't work on my version of S23U (EU/UK version).

Well it works on the SM-G988W One UI V5.1 & SM-S918W One UI V6.0 and it's worked like this all the way back to the Skyrocket.

I'll try to upload the video of my S20 Ultra One UI V5.1 Booting into Recovery with nothing attached to it.

It'll take a few minutes for the video to load here.

Here's a link to someone else saying the same thing as I am.

You need to Power OFF the phone first. Then press & hold Power + Volume Up until you feel the phone vibrate / see the logo & release both simultaneously to Boot into Recovery.

Please follow the instructions above, connecting your device to a laptop or computer via usb c.

You don't need software on your laptop or anything, the laptop just needs to be turned on (you don't even need to sign in to it!).

Hey there

As mentioned before, this isn't working for my device and other users indicating the same.

As you are in Canada, maybe it is specific to your region's device?
