S22 Exynos Battery Drain on WiFi

Hi, I'm experiencing an issue with WiFi on S22 . When the phone is idle and connected to WiFi it can't switch to "deep sleep" mode and battery drains much faster then when on 4G.

Is this a known bug ? Does Samsung is working on a fix ? I need to keep the WiFi turned off currently to reduce the idle battery drain, which is pretty annoying. According to multiple threads on Reddit and other sources online I'm not the only one with this issue

I got my S22 Base Model with Exynos SoC since 3 days. As always i installed accubattery to optimize my battery and i can confirm that my device also suffer from this problem that the device wont go to deep sleep with wifi on. I turned off the wifi and it goes to deepsleep normaly.

This problem drains my battery overnight too like the first poster said. I hope this is a software problem that can be fixed soon.

I'm also owner of base S22 Exynos model.

I see that even in deep sleep state with WiFi off (to be honest all communication like Bluetooth, LTE, sync, etc. is OFF) there is still battery drain problem. In my case 25-30% during the night (ca. 8h).

Unfortunatelly Samsung is still ignoring us (or it is hardware issue, I pray it is not).

I have been keeping a close eye on this thread and appreciate if you can keep feeding back your updates.

I was all set to upgrade to S22 as love the smaller form factor. Although reading this and a lot around the internet I'm thinking in just going for the S21. If the Pixel 6a has wireless charging I will consider that. Coming from a P30 where the battery life is outstanding and even still great after 3 years.

Has anyone had the S21 and is the battery better than the S22?

Cheers

I had the S21 and didn't notice such huge battery draining during the night (it was ca. 5% for night) like I have with S22 (almost 30% during the night).

S21 lasts at least 24h on one charging whereas S21 max 16h.

I'm really disappointed with this base S22 Exynos model 🤨
