Galaxy S22 Series@Porkchop Can unlock using Find My Mobile but Remote unlock would need to have been set up, otherwise need to Factory Reset . Imagine Smart lock for trusted places/devices is not an option. To use Google's Find My Device wouldneed to know the password. I do feel for the situation you are in with your son however the security protocols are not meant to be circumvented on a phone.
Has he not set up a fingerprint or face scan to unlock ?
If not then hopefully he can eventually remember the required code or he'll have to factory reset which will mean the need of pass codes.
