Hi,
Does anyone has any issued after the new UI 7.0 update?
After I updated my phone, the battery drained rapidly - after 3 min of use I went from 100%-75% and now after 24h of the new update, my phones shuts down unexpectedly and goes to 0% when it was just at 96% second ago.
I keep on having to charge my phone to use it and without charging it, it won't even last 5min.
Can someone help please🙏😭😭😭

Edit: For anyone that has the same issue as me, I waited 4 days and tried everything but nothing helped, so I had to go replace my battery because the old battery just kept getting worse. The battery is now back to normal, and 94% lasted me 25h with bare minimal use on power saver.

It sounds like you're experiencing severe battery drain and unexpected shutdowns after a recent update to UI 7.0 (likely Samsung's One UI 7.0, which runs on Android 15). You are definitely not alone. Many users have reported similar issues with battery life and performance after this particular update.
Here's what's likely happening and what you can try:
Why This is Happening (Common after major updates):
* System Optimization: After a major OS update, your phone needs to optimize apps and system files for the new software. This process is very resource-intensive and can cause significant battery drain and sometimes even overheating for the first few days or even up to two weeks.
* App Compatibility: Some of your apps might not be fully optimized for the new UI 7.0 yet, causing them to consume more power in the background or crash.
* Corrupted Cache/Data: A corrupted system cache or app data from the update can lead to instability and battery issues.
* Battery Recalibration: The battery statistics might need to recalibrate to the new software. The sudden drops from 96% to 0% are a strong indicator of this. Your phone isn't accurately reporting the battery level.
* Software Bugs: While less common for such severe issues, it's possible there are underlying bugs in the update itself that Samsung needs to address with a patch.
What You Can Do (Troubleshooting Steps):
* Wait for Optimization (Give it 2-3 days, maybe longer):
* This is the most common advice. Your phone is busy in the background adjusting to the new software. It can take a few days for the battery life to stabilize. Try to use your phone normally during this period (charging it as needed).
* Clear Cache Partition:
* This is often the most effective step after a major update. It clears temporary system files that might be causing conflicts.
* How to:
* Turn off your phone completely.
* Connect your phone to a computer (or another device like a TV) using a USB cable. This is crucial for newer Samsung phones to access the recovery menu.
* Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power key simultaneously.
* When the Samsung logo appears, release both keys.
* You should see the Android system recovery menu.
* Use the Volume down key to navigate to "wipe cache partition."
* Press the Power key to select it.
* Use the Volume down key to highlight "Yes" and press the Power key.
* Once complete, "Reboot system now" will be highlighted. Press the Power key to restart your phone.
* Reset Battery Stats (Samsung Specific):
* This can help recalibrate the battery readings.
* How to:
* Open your Samsung Phone app (the default dialer, not Google Phone if you have both).
* Dial *#9900#.
* A SysDump menu will appear.
* Scroll down and look for "Battery stats reset" (or something similar).
* Tap it, then restart your phone.
Some users also recommend temporarily turning off "Auto Blocker" in settings before doing this, then turning it back on after restarting.
* Update All Apps:
* Ensure all your apps are updated to their latest versions. App developers release updates to ensure compatibility with new Android versions and UI changes.
* Go to Google Play Store > Tap your profile icon (top right) > Manage apps & device > Updates available > Update all.
* Check Battery Usage in Settings:
* Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > View details (or similar).
* See which apps are consuming the most battery. If an app is acting abnormally, try:
* Force stopping it (Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Force stop).
* Clearing its cache (Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Storage > Clear cache).
* If an app seems to be the main culprit, consider uninstalling and reinstalling it.
* Review Display Settings:
* High screen brightness and Always On Display (AOD) can consume a lot of battery.
* Consider enabling Dark Mode.
* Adjust screen timeout to a shorter du

Hey, I would suggest doing a clear cache partition, as sometimes updating the device can cause a few issues and sometimes performing this can fix the issue.

To clear your phone's cache partition:

  1. Connect your phone to a PC.
  2. Turn off your phone (it won't enter Recovery Mode if it's on).
  3. Press and hold the Volume Up and Bixby/Power keys simultaneously.
  4. Once the Android Recovery screen appears, release both buttons.
  5. Use the Volume Down button to highlight "Wipe cache partition."
  6. Press the Power button to select it.
  7. Use Volume Down to highlight "Yes," then press Power to confirm.
  8. After the cache is cleared, press the Power button again to reboot your device

I would also checkout your battery heath, in settings here the stops below, hopefully clearing the cache will help fix this issue.

Here's how to find out your phone's battery health percentage:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap on Battery.
3. Scroll down to Battery information.

Check the Battery Health percentage.This percentage gives you an idea of your battery's overall capacity and how well it's performing compared to when it was new.

Hi, thanks for your comment. I have done the clear cache partition but it didn't help. I also checked the battery's health and it seemed fine. I just don't know why it's still getting worse and shutting down after 3 seconds of use at 100%.

@JenPh: Please can you try restarting your phone in Safe Mode, as this will disable all third party apps and help to determine if the issue is stemming from an external source.

To enter Safe mode, press and hold the Power button until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release > Touch and hold Power off until the 'Safe mode' prompt appears then release > To confirm, tap Safe mode. Alternatively, swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom, then tap the Power button in the top right corner to access the Power off menu.

With Safe mode active, monitor the performance of the device for a few hours, based on the frequency that you encounter the issue. If you find that the phone no longer loses charge rapidly, or switches off unexpectedly, then please restart your S22 as you would normally and uninstall any apps that you have added to the device since you first encountered the issue. It won't be possible to determine exactly which app is at fault, therefore we recommend approaching this via a process of elimination.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions. Your comments have been most detailed. So far I have tried clearing cashe partition and it didn't do anything. I have also updated all the apps in Galaxy store and play store and still didn't resolve anything. I've also reset the battery stats, which actually did something once, but after performing it a couple of times it didn't do anything. Now it will suddenly shut off without a charger on even if it's 100% and goes back to 49% after being plucked in. Everything the power is on and off, the battery status indicates a different number. This is so frustrating. But thanks for all the suggestions 🙏

Hi, i just tried it and whenever my phone is switched on and off, the battery percentage indicates a different number. I will give up more update once I try it longer. Also, my WiFi connection keeps being cut off and wont connect in again unless I restart my phone. I don't know what might be causing this 😞

Hi, i tried the safe mode again, but the phone just shut off right after I unpluck my phone from charger, and when the charger was plugged in again, it went back to 49% even though it was just fully charged.
