@Barnie-UK: You may wish to check your Sync Schedule to see if this is a contributing factor. With this in mind, please head to the Email app > Tap the 3 lines in the top left > Tap the cog in the top right of the pop-up window > Select your account > Email sync schedule > Set this to 'Auto (when received)'. While you're here, check your roaming schedule settings along with the Peak schedule settings, and make sure that there are not restrictions in place that might prevent new emails from reaching your inbox during peak times.
