Hey guys, i have a question about the warranty of my S21 Ultra (1 y/o).

So my battety suddenly expanded so much that my backside is poping of and the phone wont work. I brought it to Samsung service centre in Rotterdam for restpration but they told me my phone is not coverd by warranty.

They said thia because my phone has a small scratch (not a dent in the housing) on the side. That scratch is 100% unrealated to what happend with the battery and the guy in the store agreed with me. Also i always have a case on my phone and i have obly removed it because it wont fit since the battery has swollen.

Since that damage is unrealated to the damage i wanna claim the warranty for, can they still deny me?

Im almost done withy my masters in law (sweden) and this sounds really weird to me. I have all the latest Samsung devices so it doesnt feel good if they can deny what is a genuine warranty claim.

Thanks

I'm sure battery comes with 2 year warranty regardless of condition of the handset 🤷

Hi @Fabe55 This does seem not seem right as a small scratch not likely to cause this issue.  However if deep scratches or dents are deemed to cause a malfunction then this results in the warranty being invalid. see some information here https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-is-the-warranty-status-of-my-samsung-mobile-d...
