Stock phone call app doesn't unlock phone

Or cut over other apps when it's unlocked. I have to unlock my phone when it's ringing, swipe down then click on the call notification. Annoying. It's been like this since I bought it a couple of months ago. Any ideas? Thanks

WhatsApp calls behave correctly.

Hey there, @Geoffbot.

You can change this. Head to Phone App > More (3 dots top right) > Settings > Call display while using apps > Full screen.
